ANCO is the world’s leading supplier of eccentric mass vibrators for field testing of full scale civil structures. These field-portable systems attach to equipment and structures to determine their response to sinusoidal forcing over a range of frequencies. This allows estimation of resonant frequencies, damping, mode shapes, and other dynamic properties. Knowledge of actual dynamic properties is used to validate and improve analytical models. Such studies can detect damage, long term degradation, and allows basic research into the dynamics of linear and nonlinear structures.
ANCO’s FOVDAR PC based controller is used to drive the vibrator and to acquire, analyze, and display structural response data. ANCO vibrators have been used by university researchers and civil/structural engineers to investigate all types of structures. The vibrators can be be set to apply a force in any desired direction. EMV’s are controlled using ANCO’s FOVDAR software suite.
