Choose from a wide range of torsion capacities with 7 frame styles and 100's of configurations which allows you to optimize your testing capabilities and pick exactly what you need. Our extensive product line of torsion test machines gives you the options you need. Each torsion testing machine configuration includes your choice of a test controller, easy setup test software, test table with rotary actuator or motor, power source, torsion test fixtures, and torque and angular position sensors. Which means you get the exact system that matches the specifications you need and fits within your budget.
Torque test machines measure the torsional strength, stiffness and stress-strain properties of materials and products which are the ideal solution for biomedical, automotive, and aerospace applications. Torsional testing machines are used to simulate real life service conditions and to check product quality for products such as drill tool bit tips and medical devices, screws and other fasteners, wire, and much more. Get started by deciding if you need a static system or a dynamic fatigue system.

160 Family Model Type
*Standard test space is 400 mm (16 in), however, test space is easily customizable and can be extended to meet your test requirements.
Type: Electromechanical Gear
Capacity: 2 to 10 Nm (18 to 90 in-lb)
The 160T1 Frame is designed to perform low torque tests on materials and components up to 10 Nm (89 in-lb). The 160T1 design features a torsionally stiff mounting plate with a motor mounted on an adjustable fixed baseplate. Ideal for low torque test applications including human hair, fine wire, mouse bones, medical devices, and other sensitive low torque applications. The 160T1 extruded test frame is compact, lightweight and applies where table space is limited. The test frame can be made to match extended sample length requirements. Both horizontal and vertical configurations are available.
Type: Electromechanical Gear
Capacity: 20 to 100 Nm (177 to 900 in-lb)
The 160T2 design features a torsionally stiff extruded aluminum torque box reaction frame with a motor mounted rigidly to the baseplate. The baseplate includes sliding bearings and a second reaction plate with a torque cell mounted to it. The motor is controlled by a Newton servocontroller configured with a torsion software package, power pack, and angular encoder for position feedback. The 160T2 is used to test a variety of materials and components. The test frame is compact and applies where space is limited. The test frame can be made to match extended sample length requirements. The frame design enables use in horizontal and vertical setups to save tablespace.
Type: Electromechanical Gear
Capacity: 300 to 1130 Nm (2700 to 10,000 in-lb)
The 160T3 design features a torsionally stiff reaction frame with a motor mounted rigidly to a baseplate. The baseplate includes sliding bearings and a second reaction plate with a torque cell mounted to it. The motor is controlled by a Newton servocontroller configured with a torsion software package, power pack, and angular encoder for position feedback. The 160T3 is used to test a variety of materials and components. The test frame is compact and applies where space is limited. The test frame can be made to match extended sample length requirements. Both horizontal and vertical configurations are available.
Type: Electromechanical Gear
Capacity: 5650 Nm (50,000 in-lb)The 160T4 frame is designed for high capacity and custom engineered applications such as large test samples. The test frame can be made to match extended sample length requirements.
The 560 series electrodynamic torsion test machines are designed for static, dynamic and fatigue testing applications up to 200 Nm (1770 in-lb). Available in horizontal and vertical configurations. The 560 Series is capable of more sophisticated dynamic fatigue applications for users with fatigue-life testing requirements. Each torsion testing machine configuration includes a test controller, easy setup test software, test table with rotary actuator or motor, power source, torsion test fixtures, and torque and angular position sensors.
The system is capable of static constant angular speed or torsion load rate tests with a cyclic mode for repetitive sinusoidal or triangular waveforms that can cycle between angular positions or torque load limits. Tests last millions of cycles, or until sample failure.
