To improve the efficiency of tank testing it is important that a wave tank does not take a long time to settle between test runs.

OMEY Labs offers a passive beach wave absorber that is highly effective at removing wave energy from wave tanks.

Constructed from an aluminium frame and polycarbonate sheeting the wave absorber removes energy at high frequencies by breaking waves, and at lower frequencies through flexing of the absorber. The entrained water behind the wave absorber provides the ideal matching force.

With this highly effective  wave absorber a settle time of c.1min is achieved even for long wave periods (2.5sec).
